It's the rain, pattering on your window like an endless drum roll,
Lulling you to sleep.
It's the icicles, hanging from the roof,
Glowing, glittering wands, threatening to fall on you.
The lake, silent and still, smooth as a mirror, reflects the light of the sun.
A small brook winds into a large, loud river,
Flowing fast and carrying with it stones and sand, to the ocean.
Ah, the ocean.
Waves break onto the shore, as if calling to you to join them in their fierce game.
The ocean, admired and feared by humans for its strength and life.

Since probably 4 or 5 years ago or so, when I first started getting involved with people outside my fantasies about The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter and started watching anime including hard-working, supernaturally cute and skinny and pretty girls, I have had this pathetic character in the back of my mind that comes out to haunt me every time I am feeling weak.
